Melis Buyruk (born 1984, Gölcük), graduated from Selçuk University Fine Arts Faculty, Ceramics department in 2007. Her first solo exhibition was held in PG Art Gallery in 2015. Her works have been a part of group exhibitions in istanbul, Ankara and Dubai. In Istanbul she is represented by PG Art Gallery and abroad she is represented by Leila Heller. She continues her studies and life in Istanbul.
She refuses the idea of human supremacy in her works by placing animal and human anatomy equally on the botanical topography. Therefore, she uses the same color for every form. The animals she chooses to represent in her works are animals that are mostly not admired by the people and creates a negative reaction when confronted. With her works she creates an utopia which shows that coexistence is possible.
