Kemal Tufan
Kemal Tufan (born 1962, Istanbul), graduated from Istanbul Technical University Industrial Design department in 1985 and completed his education in Mimar Sinan University Fine Arts Faculty, Sculpture department in 1991. Both in Turkey and abroad, he opened many solo exhibitions and participated in group shows. His outdoor sculptures could be found in various cities around 34 countries. He also curated Büyükçekmece (2002-2014), Yesemek Bienal (2005-2007), Koru Genç Heykel (2015), and Brezilya Bento Gonçalves International Sculpture Symposium (2016). Tufan has been a lecturer in Mimar Sinan University Fine Arts Faculty, Sculpture department since 2005. Represented by PG Art Gallery, he continues his studies and life in Istanbul.
Tufan, who always startles the audience with his ironic works, works in fields such as instillation, performance and video making besides the sculptures he makes with the use of different materials. He uses nature as a reference and his ironic sculptures are multi-layered.
