Ayşe Gül Süter
Ayşe Gül Süter (born 1982, Istanbul), graduated from NYU Tisch School of Arts, Animation and Digital Arts Department in 2010 and attended the School of Visual Arts, New Media and Sculpture department in 2013. She attended few art shows as a guest artist in 2017. She works and collaborates with the scientists in Marine Biological Lab located in Massachusetts, USA for her projects, using various techniques and equipments to integrate to her works. She continues her studies and life in Istanbul.
Süter, who uses science and technology in her works, adopts an experimental aesthetic. She combines traditional art techniques with new media technology. She focuses on the perception of movement, light, time and space, and it’s emotional process on the viewer. She admires the visuality of life’s evolution and examines bacteria, crystal, tear drops, planktons, light and plants in her works. Her works remind us the elements that become invisible and imperceptible in our daily life tempos. She creates new worlds and micro-universes that plays with the physical perception of the audience.
Ayşe Gül Süter is the only artist who received an official invitation from the Biomedical Research Institute in Barcelona.
