Birol Kutadgu

11 December 2001 - 11 January 2002

Birol Kutadgu presents his recent paintings, representing the accumulation of the past two years, at PG Art Gallery beginning 11 December. On view until 11 January 2002, the exhibition brings together sixteen paintings in which the artist narrates “life itself.” Emphasizing the relationship between figure, time, and space, the works incorporate images retained in memory from specific places and moments in the artist’s life.

Kutadgu describes his paintings as: “The emergence on canvas of a person’s life — their sorrows, pleasures, loves, courage, and cowardice.”

After many years living in Denmark, Birol Kutadgu settled in Bodrum, where his painterly journey continues. This ongoing artistic trajectory is now presented at Pg Art Gallery.
