Young artist Kerem Ozan Bayraktar, who continues his education in Marmara University Institute of Fine Arts in the Department of Painting, is meeting the audience with his first personal exhibition, "Yankı / Echo”' that consists of his canvas, digital print and video works at Pg Art Gallery.
Drawing attention with his use of cosmetic make-up, artificial lighting, computerized textures, three-dimensional models, digital prints, photographs and industrial equipment in his works, the artist is emphasizing the emptiness, the stasis, numbness and repetition in his artwork that carries traces of the digital age.
Via his compositional language that borrows from the advertisement world, the cinema and the art history, Bayraktar, whilst expressing the cold and rigid void of the virtual world, also bonds the viewer with the introspective intensity of his works.
It brings a different point of view to this exhibition hosted by Pg Art Gallery. Besides housing significant exhibitions by Turkish and international artists, the gallery has been supporting the emerging artists as well.
