"Knots, Solutions, Possibilities"
The "Knots, Solutions, Possibilities" exhibition consists of sculptures that seek to explore the relationship between the human body and mind, and the layered and complex structure of existence within the context of the unconscious, desires, and social boundaries.
In these sculptures, which embody the existential complexity of human life, the chaotic nature of the unconscious, and the states of connection that individuals establish with themselves and their environment within socio-cultural norms—along with the effort to liberate—, the body is portrayed as an entity that continuously tangles, tightens, and awaits resolution with its internal and external bonds.
On one hand, the individual is trapped within certain identities, roles, and bodily limitations imposed by societal norms and biological boundaries. On the other hand, there is a desire to transcend, break, and recreate these boundaries.
The tangled bodies in the sculptures, which concretize this dual tension, represent moments where options and possibilities intertwine in an existential sense. The physical and emotional entanglement of the body reflects how individuals become knotted between decisions, desires, and obligations. A knot is not a problem with a single solution. Solving one knot creates another. Each knot harbors countless possibilities and solutions within itself. Thus, knots present not just a problem, but a continuous realm of potential. This potential signifies that humans are in a constant state of reshaping, decision-making, and reconstructing their identities. In this context, the knot-body sculptures express how individuals lose themselves in a universe of possibilities, both mentally and physically. However, the abundance of these possibilities also leads to a form of entrapment.
It remains uncertain which knot will be untangled or which path will be chosen. This uncertainty is linked to unconscious desires and fears; even within one's mind, it is unclear which desire to pursue or which fear will paralyze them.
"Knots, Solutions, Possibilities" reflects the constant cycle of attachment and detachment, investigating how these processes affect an individual's identity.
The body and mind are redefined in this infinite cycle between connection and disconnection as an endless universe of possibilities. The sculptures contain the potential for new beginnings and restructuring with each knot and each solution.
This exhibition, through the tangling of the body within its limits and possibilities, invites the viewer to contemplate the entrapment and quest for liberation in the existential experience of the individual, and to confront their own existential knots, exploring the relationship between disconnection and connection.
