Pg Art Gallery’s last group exhibition of this season ‘I hope so’, curated by Maura Sullivan brings together the artworks of 11 artists including Ayşe Wilson, Barry Kornbluh, Corey Bond, Ebru Duruman, Jak Baruh, Jim Cooper, Maura Sullivan, Monica Delgado, Russell Joslin, Walter Fields and Yeweng Wong.
‘‘'I hope so' is an artist collective that invites the viewer into images, which hover between light and dark. A figure floats in a dark landscape. A woman wears a lock of hair as a mask. Tangles of paint and washes of computer printing reveal our subjects. In works in ink, photo pigment and paint, there is at times a humor, and other times a dark beauty. Are we lost, or are we found? We are invited to step inside and feel for ourselves the beginning and end of each mysterious story. We step inside artist journals, road trip through idyllic landscapes and share suspended moments of hope and longing, loss and love.’’
