Pg Art Gallery is pleased to present Inside Your Head, an exhibition by Sinem Demirci, on view from 24 October to 27 November 2026.
Reality is not always as familiar as it seems. Sometimes, an unexpected detail embedded in an ordinary moment blurs the boundaries of the world we know. The familiar becomes unfamiliar, the ordinary turns strange, and the distance between reality and imagination gradually fades.
In Sinem Demirci’s paintings, the everyday details of ordinary life transform into another reality through unexpected encounters. Women, animals, and objects share the same scenes, while familiar relationships give way to unlikely juxtapositions that require no explanation.
Here, nothing is entirely where it is supposed to be. And yet, nothing seems surprised to find itself where it is. The figures’ gazes, postures, and relationships with one another blur the boundary between the familiar and the strange.
Perhaps what is absurd is not what we see, but our need to make sense of it.
Inside Your Head invites viewers not to follow a particular narrative, but to encounter their own associations. There is no riddle to solve, no story to follow, and no single truth to arrive at. Each image takes on a new form in the memory, experiences, and imagination of the person who encounters it.
Because sometimes, an image is at its most free when it no longer has to explain what it is.
